Problems/Comments

The subject property began operation as a convenience grocery and liquor store in 1982, and added a gasoline station in 1996 with the installation of one 15,000-gallon gasoline underground storage tank (UST #1). On December 18, 2018 soil contamination as found at the top of the tank during an upgrade of the tank's two sumps and piping and 10 cubic yards of contaminated soil were stockpiled on the property. On January 2, 2019 excavation samples were collected documenting soil contamination remained near the top of the tank. On March 21, 2019 an additional 10 cubic yards of contaminated soil were excavated and confirmation samples were collected from the expanded excavation. All of those samples meet default cleanup levels. The total of 20 cubic yards of excavated contaminated soil were thermally treated at ASR in 2019. Site closure letter issued on July 18, 2019. This facility has an associated site: Hazard ID 26799, file no. 2333.26.058.
