Problems/Comments

In 2018, during replacement of the gas station dispensers at the Holiday Station Store #635 in Soldotna, 25 cubic yards of potentially impacted soil were excavated and stockpiled. Two soil samples collected 0.5 to 1.0 feet into the pile contained diesel range organics (DRO) at 342 mg/kg and 484 mg/kg. The 25 cubic yard contaminated stockpile was transported to an off-site treatment facility and thermally remediated. No soil samples were collected from the dispenser excavations before being filled back to grade.
