Problems/Comments

In June 2020, seven test pits were advanced as part of a geotechnical investigation at the proposed Whittier City Park site located at the south end of Glacier Avenue. During this work, petroleum odor was noted in three of seven test pits advanced. Analytical soil samples collected from two of these three test pits at 8 feet below ground surface (bgs) and 5 feet bgs contained diesel range organics (DRO) up to 1,530 mg/kg and naphthalene up to 0.283 mg/kg. No field screen samples were collected during the geotechnical investigation.
