Problems/Comments

On May 18, 2023, approximately 170 gallons of diesel was released due to an overfill of the underground storage tank (UST). Impacted soil was removed and places in an on-site containment area until it could be transported for off-site disposal. Initially, a portion was unable to be removed due to the presence of piping infrastructure approximately 4 feet below ground surface (bgs); however, field screening conducted in May and June of 2023 indicated contamination was still present in the excavation extent in multiple areas, necessitating further removal and sampling.

There were two analytical samples taken at the base of the northern portion of the excavation with 1,2 Dibromoethane results of 2.03 micrograms per kilogram (µg/kg) in sample B1-4 and 1.62 µg/kg in sample B1-7, both samples were above the 0.24 µg/mg MTG cleanup level. A workplan is requested for further site characterization and remedial actions. Kris Dent
