Problems/Comments
The Tok Old School building was constructed sometime after 1954 and prior to 1980. The property contains the old school building as well as several ancillary buildings. The school had a private water supply well(s), an onsite septic system(s), and heating fuel, including a heating oil tank in the basement of the former school building. It is unknown if there are any aboveground storage tanks (ASTs) or underground storage tanks (USTs) on the property. It is unknown whether the basement heating oil tank or its associated piping extends beneath the basement floor, or if there were any past releases or overfilling events.
The old school building is suspected to contain hazardous building material (HBM), including asbestos-containing materials and lead-based paint. Other potential HBM include polychlorinated biphenyls in fluorescent light ballasts, mercury in thermostats and electric switched, phosphorescent chemicals in emergency exit signs, and electronic devices which could contain lead, cadmium, chromium, and copper.
