Meeting or Teleconference Held |
Teleconference with Bill Huebner from Park Service - Reviewed data from 11/01, 2/02, 6/02, 10/02 and 2/03. Levels up to 225 mg/L DRO still showing at the source well (MW-3) but drops off significantly at MW-1 and MW-2 which are downgradient. I directed NPS to change monitoring at this site to look at TAH and TAqH at MW-1 and MW-2 semiannually. The concern is whether contamination is reaching nearby Bartlett Cove. Drinking water source for all NPS buildings is an upgradient stream. |

DRO still above Table C but plume is stable. Will be allowed to naturally attenuate. Active monitoring may be discontinued. Decision document is at G:\SPAR\Spar-Contaminated Sites\38 Case Files (Contaminated Sites)\1507 Gustavus\1507.38.001 Bartlett Cove Admin. Bldg. (GBA-12)\NFRAP Decision.doc. |

Update or Other Action |
Conversation with Bill Heubner at NPS. Latest monitoring results show possibly 0.5" in product in MWell. Staff may attempt to install a product recovery system. We will revisit and discuss this site in the fall, but this may be a small amount of product perched in a small zone. Does not affect drinking water and no sheening observed in Bartlett Cove. |

Update or Other Action |
After reviewing the latest monitoring report, the site will remain conditionally closed due to the following factors:
•The site is on a shoreline, with no possibility of water being used as a drinking water source.
•The actual impacted area at GBQ-3 is relatively small (~1-3cy).
•There are no completed pathways for human health or ecological impacts.
•The lack of sheens observed on the shoreline, indicating the relatively small plume is stable and not migrating into the tidal zone.
