Problems/Comments
An estimated volume of 50 gallons of heating oil was spilled on surface soil as a result of storage tank failure. The tank was emptied, removed and replaced with a new above ground storage tank. An in-situ remediation plan to add fertilizer to the oil that was bound to organic surface soil was approved by DEC.

Evaluation using the environmental tracking module has shown that exposure pathways have been controlled and are presently not complete. | Bruce Wanstall |
11/30/2007 | Site Closure Approved | The release of heating fuel resulted in soil contamination at the 4129 Birch Lane property. The remedial efforts to treat the contamination on site were to add nutrients to the soil and allow the contamination to be degraded naturally over time. The 2007 site assessment information has documented that soil samples do not exceed the established cleanup levels. As a result, ADEC will not require any further cleanup actions and the site is approved for closure status. | Bruce Wanstall |
10/31/2014 | Exposure Tracking Model Ranking | A new updated ranking with ETM has been completed for source area 73957 above ground heating oil tank. | Bruce Wanstall |
