Problems/Comments
Diesel contaminated soil was discovered during excavation for a water and sewer project. Contamination resulted from a diesel pump leak. North Slope Borough secured the site so that the residents of Point Hope will not be exposed to contaminants while a cleanup plan is developed. Lots 2 and 9 of Townsite Block 8.

This site had been contaminated by the release of a hazardous substance; however, based on the information provided to date, ADEC has determined that no further remedial action is required, and that the Point Hope Tuttu Street Trench can be closed subject to the conditions outlined in the Record of Decision.
