Problems/Comments

This site pertains to the new airport fuel facility. No documentation of contamination at new airport has been located, nor has any phase I ESA--new airport construction was completed in 1999. Working with ADOT&PF through Reuse and Redevelopment Program to ascertain presence and extent of contamination. Oasis conducted a Brownfield Assessment of the AST fueling array at the new airport on June 15 and 16, 2009. During the site visit, the consultant observed an approximately 50-square-foot stain on the gravel pad adjacent to the fenced tank array. FKA Brownfield site 800.57.002.

2/25/2010 Site Characterization Report Approved DRO contamination exceeds migration-to-groundwater cleanup levels but exposure is partially controlled by a liner at 1 to 2 feet below ground surface across most of affected area. Groundwater not used as a drinking water source. Future construction workers could be exposed if soil excavation is included in future work activities. Surface water bodies could potentially be affected by runoff from high precipitation events, but this is considered unlikely, and surface water in the area is not used as a drinking water source.
