Problems/Comments
A Phase I Site Investigation has been conducted by Alaska Village Environmental Services, Inc. The report was received by the department, PERP, on 7/12/98. The report found several areas of contamination based on field screening and visual evidence but no evidence of a 10,000 gallon spill. Extent of contamination and threat to drinking water source otherwise unknown. No project file found in 12/90 nor 6/00 for database update. (FY95) Former File Number 180.02.002. In 2019, ADEC staff visited the resort property where the drums, tanks, and miscellaneous piles of debris were located and documented in the above referenced report. ADEC was shown each of the source areas and documented removal of all of the source area concerns. Additionally, soils were screened where the was a reported fuel spill and detected very low levels (4 ppm) of remaining petroleum. As a result, ADEC does not expect significant contaminant levels to remain. ADEC determined after a site visit in September 2019 and further review of the administrative files that site status should change from Active to Unconfirmed.
