Problems/Comments
5,300 ppm DRO in soil sample collected near property line during excavation for new construction. Contaminated soil excavated on property stockpiled using field-screening methods, source not discovered, thought to be historical. Groundwater at 3 feet below ground surface, water well 160 feet SW. Hand borings used to delineate the site. Primarily a residential zone with private wells and septics. Percolation tests indicated course-grained sands/gravels. Well depth on site is 130 feet below ground surface. Transfer from PERP (Wesser). Lot 8, Block 2, Birch Tree Estates. Former project manager Dave Allen.

The report documented contamination that extended from 0.5 foot to the water table [approximately 2.7 feet below ground surface (bgs)] on the northeastern portion of the property. Approximately two cubic yards of contaminated soils were excavated and temporarily stockpiled on site. One analytical soil sample was collected from 2.5 feet bgs and was analyzed for DRO, RRO and VOCs.
