Problems/Comments
500-gallon heating oil tank removal. Field screening of excavated soils produced no petroleum-contaminated soil. Lab analysis of a single soil sample collected at the bottom center of the excavation, 7 feet below ground surface, showed 940 mg/kg DRO. City of Valdez contact is George Keeney, the Public Works Director at 835-4473. Fire Department contact is Gary Shoup 835-4560 ext 301. Fire Station is located at Mile 10 Richardson Hwy., near Alpine Woods Subdivision. The site is also called the Apline Woods Fire Station by the City of Valdez. Not served by City water. Wellhead is located near SE corner of property, over 100 feet from the former location of the fuel tank. No contaminated soil was stockpiled.
