Problems/Comments

Site investigation of an inactive reserve pit and drill site reported DRO in two borings on the north end of the drill site with concentrations ranging from 3,300 to 8,500 mg/kg from 0 to 24 inches depth. The site is within the Redoubt Bay Critical Habitat Area. Site is 4,226.1 feet south and 1,923.86 feet west from the northeast corner, Section 4, T8N, R15 W, Seward Meridian. It is situated in the floodplain of the lower Kustatan River in a wetlands area near a slough that drains into the Kustatan River. The gravel pad is approximately 200 by 350 feet and DRO contaminated soil is currently estimated at roughly 100 by 100 feet on the north end of the gravel pad (based on limited characterization data). Shallow groundwater is present under the pad at a depth of approximately three feet. Latitude and longitude are approximate.
