Problems/Comments

Soil contamination from leaky fuel supply line to a backup generator. Elevated levels of diesel range (DRO) and gasoline range organics (GRO) detected in soils collected from the generator footprint following its removal. Clean soil found at four feet below ground surface, no groundwater encountered. Horizontal extent undetermined during interim removal but estimated at 100 square feet. Volume of contaminated soil estimated at 25 cubic yards. History of underground storage tank (UST) removals from the property: 1991(?) One gas and one diesel UST removed from southeast corner of the property. A 2,000-gallon heating oil tank removed from southwest corner of the property and 1,000-gallon aboveground storage tank (AST) heating oil tank removed from site, dates not known. No corresponding site in the Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) database for this property.
