9/9/2005 GIS Position Updated Using Figure A-2 Potential Spill Sources at East Forlands Facility, from Marathon Oil Company, dated June 2003, in conjunction with TopoZone Pro and the KPB Parcel Lookup, entered the coordinates for this site. Metadata includes No Topo Basemap, TopoZone Pro Street Maps, Black and White Aerial Photo, on a Medium Size Map, View Scale 1:10,000, Coordinate Datum NAD83. High degree of confidence in accuracy of location. Alyce Hughey
7/10/2006 Site Characterization Report Approved Reviewed Soil Boring Investigation report.Borings down to 120' di not encounter GW. So, contamination of GW from this release is unlikely. The soil interval from approximately 5' - 12' bgs is contaminated above ADEc most stringent clenaup levels. A site remediation plan is being developed. Donald Seagren
2/13/2007 Exposure Tracking Model Ranking Intitial Ranking Complete for Source Area: 75064 (Autogenerated Action)
5/8/2007 Cleanup Plan Approved Reviewed and approved Proposed Remedial action Work Plan dated 7 May 07. No soil may be removed from the site without prior ADEC approval. If the contaminate soil goes to the KPN landfill, ADEC will need a copy of the KOPB approval letter accepting the soils. Donald Seagren
9/13/2007 Update or Other Action Teleconference with Marathon, Oasis & ADEC staff concerning a revised work plan utilizing multi-increment sampling approach. A revised paln will be submitted addressing Earl Crapps review comments. Once Earl approves the revised multi-increment sampling approach the work plan will be considered approved. A separate plan will be developed for the contaminated soil stockpile. Marathon was advised that they may backfill the excavation for safety concerns prior to receiving the analytical data from the lab. However, ADEC may require further assessment &/or corrective actions based on a review of the final report and lab data package. Donald Seagren
9/18/2007 Site Characterization Workplan Approved The multi increment sampling approach was approved by Earl Crapps for the East Forelands Flare Pit Excavation Work Plan dated 13 September 07. With the approval of he multi increment sampling appraoch the entire work plan was approved. The work will tentatively be conducted the week of 1 October 07. Donald Seagren
10/1/2007 Update or Other Action Reviewed stockpile assessment work plan. After review of the plan and discussing it with Clint from American environmental, the work plan was approved with the suggestion for additional field screening and samples at depths greater than 24" in the stockpile so that we are no basing any decision on the 24" outer layer of the stockpile. Donald Seagren
3/4/2008 Risk Assessment Report Approved reviewed site cleanup & asseaament report. discussed with technology staff. Marathon used MI sampling approach to try to demonstrate that site met cleanup levels. However, the MI sampling showed that the contamination remaining in the ground remains above site cleanup levels. A remediation plan will be submitted for the approximately 650 yds3 stockpile on site. Once the stockpiled soil is remediated and conditional closure may be approved for the site. due to site conditions and depth to GW (>120') the migration to gw pathway is not expected to become complete. Donald Seagren
5/6/2008 Site Characterization Report Approved Reviewed East Froelands Flare Pit Remediation Site Cleanup report dated February 08. DRO soil contamiantion remains above ADEC cleanup levels. For safety reasons, the excavation has been backfilled. No GW encountered. GW depth at about 120+ feet bgs. Risk to human health and the environment from the remaining contaminated soil is minimal. Natural attenuation will reduce remaining contaminant levels over time. Marathon is developing a plan for remediaiton of the approximately 600 yds3 contamianted soil stockpile. Donald Seagren
6/12/2008 Update or Other Action Site transferred from Don Seagren to Paul Horwath per Linda Nuechterlein. Alyce Hughey
