9/2/2016 | Update or Other Action | On this date, DEC sent a letter to the USFS requesting action on a number of sites. For this site, DEC stated: A site characterization was conducted in October 2008. Elevated concentrations of metals and petroleum were found in the soil and groundwater and elevated concentrations of metals in the sediment and surface water. Buried metal debris, crushed drums, tires, and a battery were found while advancing test pits. A buried debris cell of unknown contents is present on sites. Additional investigation and cleanup is needed at this site. DEC hereby requests that by October 10, 2016 the USFS provide a timeline by which they will conduct this additional characterization. | Anne Marie Palmieri |
