Problems/Comments
Historic fuel contamination discovered along Meridian Road near Alder Street during excavation for Infrastructure Support For Modularity project. PID screening was performed during trench excavation. Approximately 50 cubic yards of contaminated soil were excavated and stockpiled. Two lab samples were taken at 1.5 feet below ground surface and revealed very little. Screening results were still high according to field notes. Concrete was poured and excavation was backfilled.

| 4/2/2013 | Cleanup Complete Determination Issued | 2011 Meridan Ball Field Investigation, After Action Report, March 2013 Cleanup Complete Determination, Fort Wainwright Meridian Road Haz ID 4363 The report documents the sampling and analysis of three samples from each of six soil borings surrounding the location that was the subject of a spill report on October 11, 2005. All samples were analyzed for gasoline range organics, diesel range organics, residual range organics, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes, and lead in accordance with an approved work plan. No analytes were detected above the 18 AAC 75.341 Method II soil cleanup levels for the most stringent pathway. This site meets the requirements for site closure and a determination that the cleanup is complete. This determination is in accordance with 18 AAC 75.380 and does not preclude ADEC from requiring additional assessment and/or cleanup action if future information indicates that this site may pose an unacceptable risk to human health or the environment. | Debra Caillouet |
