Action Information

Action Date Action Description DEC Staff
11/5/1990 Site Added to Database Asbestos, petroleum, and chlorinated solvents. Former Staff
10/21/1991 Preliminary Assessment Approved R&M consultants conducted an environmental property assessment for UAF. Two 20,000 gallon underground storage tanks on site need to be drained of all contents and removed in accordance with ADEC regulations. Additional subsurface borings be done around buildings investigated by COE in 1985 to evaluated any changes in the nature, level, and vertical extent of contaminant plume that may have occurred since 1985. Soil samples need to be taken from area around transformer cooling oil spill since TPH was at 44,000 mg/kg from a 1991 sampling effort. PCBs were at less than 1 mg/kg. Note, the above applies to the Launch Facility, not specifically to the dump site. Former Staff

(Colonel Pierce) a letter dated January 24, 1992, requesting the Corps take action on the items detailed in the assessment report/remediation plan.
