DEC reviewed and provided comments for the Preliminary Assessment Report for Aqueous Film-Forming Foam Areas for Bullen Point SRRS. This assessment reviewed information gathered during a document search, review of the USAF Administrative Record, interviews with personnel and a visual inspection of the site to evaluate if aqueous film-forming foam (AFFF) was stored and used at the former short range radar station. DEC recommended USAF investigate additional non-AFFF source areas to evaluate the potential presence of PFAS at the former landfill and radome area. These additional areas will be investigated under the upcoming non-AFFF Preliminary Assessment and Site Investigation for Bullen Point SRRS. |
