Problems/Comments
Diesel contaminated soils discovered during geotechnical investigation in November 1989. Source and extent of contamination unknown. Health impact minimal. RCRA EPA ID#AKAK8170000147 For U.S. Navy Radar Facility - Amchitka Island Hazardous Waste Activity; generator 2. Also, USCOE Amchitka Island AK6210890079 Hazardous waste activity: generator 1. (11/99) There is disagreement over who is the responsible party at this site between all four of the involved agencies. Last staff assigned were Roberts, Hartung, Halverson,and Brownlee. The Navy perfomed a cleanup of the area in 2001.
