Document, Report, or Work plan Review - other |
Reviewed Contaminated Tundra Corrective Action Plan for Tract 21. Further investigation indicated areas of significant sheen on surface water which, along with field screening was used to delienate the extent of hydrocarbon contamination in tundra troughs in the area south of the main pad. Approximately 750 cy of contaminated sediment will be excavated from the tundra troughs then backfilled with gravel and clean organic overburden. Contaminated material will be stored over winter then treated at AIC in 2012. |

Document, Report, or Work plan Review - other |
Reviewed Schlumberger Tract 21 Contaminated Tundra Remedial Action Report. The report details the excavation of approximately 820 cubic yards of contaminated tundra material from thermokarst troughs along the southern edge of the pad. Excavation was generally conducted to 12 inches bgs, but to 18 inches bgs in some discrete areas. Activities were conducted in April, 2012 when the material was still frozen and guided by data collected during previous investigations and by field screening with a PID. Following excavation, both composite and discrete confirmation samples were collected from the bottom and sidewalls of the excavated areas. DRO was detected up to 360 mg/kg. The area was backfilled with gravel to near tundra grade, then topped with organic overburden to facilitate natural revegetation. |
