Update or Other Action |
On this date, DEC sent a letter to the USFS requesting action on a number of sites. For this site, DEC stated: A cleanup of petroleum-contaminated soil was conducted at this LTF in the late 1990s. In 1999, the USFS provided a Final Cleanup Report which stated that the confirmation sample results had been inadvertently disposed of. After several discussions, in 2004, DEC requested that soil samples be collected in the area of the excavation in order to determine if all of the contamination was removed. To date, DEC has not received a work plan for this work. DEC requests that the USFS provide a work plan to DEC for review and approval, conduct the soil sampling, and provide a report to DEC by June 1, 2017. |
