Problems/Comments

This is a combination CS and LUST site. The non-regulated release is from leaking hydraulic lift piping which resulted in contaminated soils and probably contaminated groundwater beneath the lifts. It is not possible to remove all contaminated soil due to structural considerations (can’t access deep soils from within the building, and soils along foundation are contaminated. Soils as deep as 9 feet have been removed and replaced with clean fill. Groundwater is at 11 feet. The associated LUST release is from an oil/water separator (LUST file number L55.99). Groundwater flow direction is established and three nearby monitoring wells downgradient from the leaky hydraulic lifts have had no detectable contamination over a one-year monitoring period in 1999. Lot 4, DeBarr Bragaw Subdivision. The elevation is ~50 meters (~164 feet).
