Problems/Comments
Possible leachate contamination from tailings mercury and cyanide. Underlying claims held by Almasy and Mespelt Mining Co., P.O. Box 74, McGrath, AK 99627. They lease to Central Alaska Exploration Corp, operator for Caithness Alaska Mining Co. and Nixon Fork, a joint venture. September 2013 update- The tailings impoundment from the former Almasy claim failed and the tailings flowed downhill along the Ruby Creek drainage to the Lower Road. Note this site is not related to the Mystery Creek Resources development in the same area.

| 9/5/2013 | Meeting or Teleconference Held | A meeting was held today to discuss the potential reprocessing of mine tailings from the Almasy claim. Note this site is not associated with the Mystery Creek Resources development in the same area. Information provided during the meeting indicates the tailings impoundment failed at some point prior to 2005 and the mine tailings flowed downstream along the Ruby Creek drainage to the Lower Road. Ruby Creek is reportedly an ephemeral drainage only. Sample data was not provided at the meeting, though it is suspected that mercury contamination is present in soil below the former impoundment and potentially underneath the tailings that flowed into the Ruby Creek drainage. | Bill O'Connell |
