General Permits for Pesticide Application

General permits have been issued to allow specific pesticide uses, in cases where a permit is required to perform pesticide application. An applicant that desires coverage for a project under a general permit must meet all requirements of the general permit to be eligible for coverage under it. If the applicant cannot meet these requirements, the applicant should contact the Pesticide Control Program at 907-376-1870 to discuss individual permitting for the project.

Invasive Elodea Control (General Permit 19-GP-ELODEA)

The general permit allows for application of specific products containing fluridone and diquat dibromide to be applied to non-flowing water for the control of invasive elodea. This general permit can only be used for projects overseen by the Alaska Department of Natural Resources. In order to apply pesticides under this general permit for a specific project, an applicant must submit a completed and signed application for coverage and receive a confirmation letter and project tracking number.

Invasive Fish Control (General Permit 19-GP-FISH)

The general permit allows for application of specific products containing rotenone to be applied to water for the control of invasive fish. This general permit can only be used for projects overseen by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. In order to apply pesticides under this general permit for a specific project, an applicant must submit a completed and signed application for coverage and receive a confirmation letter and project tracking number.

Invasive Weed Control (General Permit 20-GP-Weed)

The general permit allows for application of one or more specific products outlined in the permit for the control of invasive plant species on land. This general permit can only be used for projects overseen or managed by a state agency, which includes Alaska's Soil and Water Conservation Districts. In order to apply pesticides under this general permit for a specific project, an applicant must submit a completed and signed application for coverage and receive a confirmation letter and project tracking number.
