Peter Pan Seafoods False Pass Spill

Location: Peter Pan Seafood's tank farm is located in the city of False Pass. False Pass is 646 air miles southwest of Anchorage (Lat/Log: 54.827778, -163.399167).
Time/Date: Peter Pan Seafoods facility manager discovered the spill at 2:30 p.m. on March 4, 2012. The Peter Pan Seafood's reported the spill to ADEC at 11:30 a.m. on March 5.

Product/ Quantity: The spilled product is unleaded gasoline. The facility manager estimates that approximately 3,468 gallons of unleaded gasoline were lost from the 30,610-gallon capacity tank, which was gauged at 12,325 gallons at the end of January. The spill is contained within the lined containment area. It is suspected that the spill originated from the bottom of the tank.
Cause: The cause of the spill is unknown and is under investigation.
