Program Responsibilities

The AMQA program assesses compliance and operating air quality monitoring networks around the state, provides assistance to the public, municipalities, tribal organizations, and industries. Air Quality Advisories inform the public of unhealthy air quality conditions caused by smoke, dust, volcanic ashfall, carbon monoxide, and other harmful particulates. The program develops and maintains air quality databases to improve the assessment, mapping, and reporting of environmental conditions as well as providing quality assurance and quality control oversight for statewide air quality monitoring operations.
