Historic PSD Quality Meteorological Data

The datasets listed below are over 10 years old and are considered historic and have been archived to comply with DEC’s Temporal Requirements for Modeling Data Set Utilization.  ADEC is providing this summary strictly for informational purposes. These datasets are not approved for regulatory use by default. Any applicant wishing to use any of these archived meteorological datasets must first contact ADEC. Use of the data is subject to explicit pre-approval by the Department and will only be permitted if ADEC determines the dataset to be representative for the proposed project.

It is the applicant’s responsibility to demonstrate that any selected dataset is appropriate for their site and complies with recommendations for meteorological data outlined in Section 8.4 of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) Guideline on Air Quality Models (Appendix W of 40 CFR 51). In all cases, applicants must review the applicable data report and ADEC’s detailed findings before considering the use of any dataset. No dataset may be included in a permit application without prior consultation and written approval from ADEC.
