Service Description: Data displays Alaska's active public water system (PWS) source locations for WL (well), IN (intake), SP (spring), IG (infiltration gallery), and RC (rain catchment) facility types. The authoritative data resides in the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation's (ADEC) Safe Drinking Water Information Systems (SDWIS) State database. Corrections and revisions to facility locations are made by ADEC Drinking Water Protection staff within SDWIS State database. Data is updated daily (6AM). Location accuracy can be determined by reviewing the comment field in the attributes. If the comment section indicates that the source location has been verified by DWPP staff, it can be assumed that the accuracy is 10 meters or less.
