Fairbanks Air Quality Plans

The State Implementation Plan (SIP) for Alaska has many chapters. Here is the Table of Contents. The portions of the Alaska SIP directly related to the Fairbanks North Star Borough (FNSB) can be found on this page.

For PM2.5

  • Moderate SIP - contains the elements to meet the requirements for an area classified as Moderate. These requirements must be met even if a new SIP is adopted.
  • Serious SIP - contains the elements to meet the requirements for an area classified as Serious.

For Carbon Monoxide

  • Limited Maintenance SIP (PDF) - contains the elements to meet the requirements for a maintenance area. The Carbon Monoxide Area within FNSB has been classified as a maintenanace area. The control measures remain in place unless they have been formally changed to contingency measures.
