2013 DEC Final Regulations & SIP- Fairbanks North Star Borough Fine Particulate Matter (PM2.5)
DEC proposed regulations to address Fine Particulate Matter (PM2.5) within the Fairbanks North Star Borough Nonattainment Area in September 2013. The public review period lasted 125 days and included three open houses in Fairbanks, one open house in North Pole, three public hearings in Fairbanks, and hearings in Anchorage and Juneau. DEC considered all comments received during the comment period when choosing to adopt a portion of the proposed regulations. The proposed and adopted regulations are posted below. DEC also proposed revised versions of aspects of this proposal in its 2014 Regulatory Proposal.
