Progress & Annual Reports - Fairbanks North Star Borough Nonattainment Area
Reasonable Further Progress
The Clean Air Act (Section 172(c)(2)) requires nonattainment areas to demonstrate reasonable further progress (RFP) and to demonstrate progress by showing a current inventory of actual emissions in relation to the quantitative milestones (QM) submitted in the State Implementation Plan (SIP). To meet this requirement, Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is required to submit a technical report to EPA every three years documenting the area’s progress.
Reports are due to EPA by March 31 after each analysis year.

Annual Air Quality Reports
DEC and the Fairbanks North Star Borough (FNSB) Air Quality Program are providing annual status reports to the community and other interested parties on activities and progress made to implement control measures and improve air quality within the FNSB nonattainment area. While efforts to control air pollution have been ongoing in the community for many years, these reports were developed to provide information on the State and Borough actions to implement the Serious State Implementation Plan.
