Upcoming Deadline for Unclaimed Pets from Typhoon Halong - December 15, 2025
Since Typhoon Halong more than 200 dogs have been evacuated from impacted villages thanks to the work of many volunteers, non-profits, and government agencies.
Approximately 125 of these dogs have been claimed or reunited with their owners, but about 20 remain unclaimed. The Office of the State Veterinarian and partners are continuing to reunite as many dogs as possible with their families.
Owners must come forward by December 15, 2025 to claim their pets. After this deadline, unclaimed dogs will be spayed/neutered and made available for adoption to new owners.
To Claim a Dog:
- Unclaimed dogs can be viewed on the Typhoon Halong Missing and Found Dogs website.
- To claim one of these dogs, or to declare that you are missing a dog that is not listed on this page, please call or text the Pet Help Hotline at 907-615-8904.
Dogs in Long-term Foster:
Many dogs have been claimed but are currently being housed in long-term fosters until their owners secure their own stable housing.
If you have a dog in long-term foster, please check in with Anchorage Animal Care and Control (907-343-8138) before December 15, 2025.
Verify the following information:
