Air Monitoring Network Assessments
The EPA requires state monitoring agencies to conduct a network assessment every five years. Network assessments discuss the current regulatory ambient air quality monitoring network and anticipated changes to the network over the next five‐year period. The primary objectives of these reports is to determine if the network meets the monitoring objectives (defined in 40 CFR part 59.10 Appendix D), whether new sites are needed or if existing sites can be terminated, and whether new technologies are appropriate for incorporation into the ambient air monitoring network.
