Why is ADEC updating adoptions by reference?

ADEC is adopting updated federal regulations so that applicable requirements are in place for federal air quality area designations, air programs, engines in remote areas of Alaska, and stationary combustion turbines.

Why is ADEC updating the PM10 Limited Maintenance Plans for Eagle River and Juneau?

ADEC is updating the the PM10 Limited Maintenance Plans because the Clean Air Act (CAA) Section 175 A(b) requires states to submit a revision to the first 10-year LMP 8 years after the EPA approves the original re-designation.
