  • Opening remarks and introductions, Kimberly Stryker
  • Food Safety and Sanitation program update, Jeremy Ayers and Carol Brady
    • Position opening in Dutch Harbor later this summer, currently hiring in Wasilla
    • The program may be able to share data to help other programs with projects

Member Updates

  • Office of the State Veterinarian, Dr. Sarah Coburn, Robyn Hurley
    • Continuing produce safety training, waiting for grant information from FDA and tentatively making plans for next year
    • No dairy updates at this time
  • Environmental Health Laboratory, Dena Cologgi
    • Working on completing food commodity testing by July for the laboratory flexible funding model (LFFM) grant from FDA
  • University of Alaska Anchorage Dietetics and Nutrition, Melissa Chlupach
    • The spring semester is ending
    • Posting videos for traditional kitchen projects, new video on whitefish stew
  • Section of Epidemiology, Stephanie Won
    • May be seeing more foodborne illness, but no confirmed food source, may be linked to travel
  • North Pacific Seafood, Inc., LE Hegge
    • Getting ready for salmon season
  • Alaska Food Policy Council, Robbi Mixon
    • Planning the next conference in Fairbanks, proposal form will open in May
  • Education and Early Development, Rachel Negron
    • This school year is ending and preparing for next year
  • Municipality of Anchorage, Darcy Harris and Donald Wingate
    • Will have a new staff joining their team at the beginning of May and they will be fully staffed
    • Preparing for the busy summer season
    • Holding temporary food service workshops this week and next week
