Owners and operators are responsible for safeguarding public health in their facility.
This includes using clean equipment, practicing personal hygiene, maintaining the premises, and other activities that ensure services are safe.

The Department of Environmental Conservation does not inspect or issue sanitation certificates to facilities providing hair, nail, or esthetic services.
