Fish Tissue Monitoring Map

The Fish Monitoring Program (FMP) characterizes and tracks contaminant levels in fish tissue from across the State. This map shows the sampling locations of the fish tested.

Quick Facts

Since 2001, the FMP has collected over 14,890 samples and analyzed over 11,723 samples from 113 different species
Most of Alaska's fish are low in contaminants
Fish is an excellent source of protein and important nutrients such as Omega-3 fatty acids and selenium
No detectable levels of radiation have been found in Alaska's fish since testing began in 2014
