Location: Kuskokwim River in and around McGrath, Alaska.
Time/Date: The spill was discovered at approximately 2:00 p.m. July 31, 2003 by the McGrath City Administrator and reported by the McGrath Volunteer Fire Department.

Product/ Quantity: An unknown amount of unknown petroleum product was reported in the Kuskokwim River around McGrath. The sheen is reported to vary from 20’ to 100’ wide and is estimated to be from 1 to 5 miles long.
Cause: Unknown. Fire department personnel are attempting to locate the source.
