Location: Kuguklik River, approximately 4 miles NW of Kipnuk (Latitude N 59° 58.3’ Longitude W 164° 04.6’)
Time/Date: The vessel grounded onshore of the Kuguklik River around 3:00 PM on October 17, 2005. The potential spill was reported to ADEC by the United States Coast Guard (USCG) on October 17, 2005, at approximately 4:25 PM.

Product/ Quantity: The total volume of fuel on board is 3,000 gallons of # 2 diesel fuel. No fuel has been discharged.
Cause: No fuel has been discharged. During inclement wind, T/B O.B. 5 was attempting to avoid severe winds in Kinak Bay. The T/B O.B. 5 was pushed by gusting winds and grounded onshore (grass/mud) of the Kuguklik River.
