There is no spill. Investigation has concluded that the water found behind the H Pad well house in Milne Point was snow melt and not produced water. Approximately 200 gallons of water were discovered near a well house on H pad in Milne Point. It was unknown at time of discovery if the product was snow melt, produced water or a combination of both. Produced water is the water that comes out of the oil bearing formation with the crude oil. Produced water is normally separated from the crude oil and injected back into the oil formation. Produced water typically has a high salt concentration and can be toxic to tundra vegetation.
