Aniak Tank Farm Gasoline Release

- Crowley Aniak Bulk Fuel Facility. Aniak is located on the south bank of the Kuskokwim River at the head of Aniak Slough, 59 miles southeast of Russian Mission in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta. It lies 92 air miles northeast of Bethel and 317 miles west of Anchorage.

- Crowley Petroleum Distribution (Crowley) discovered the spill at 8:30 AM on April 25, 2011 and reported it to ADEC at 9:24 AM.

- The spilled product is unleaded gasoline. Crowley estimates that the spilled volume is 1,973 gallons. This is based on the tank gauge taken on April 26, 2011. Crowley reported that the fuel leaked from the Upper Tank Farm's tank 431 which has a capacity of 21,000 gallons. The tank contained 6,500 gallons when it was last gauged on April 21, 2011. The spill is contained within the 50 by 80 foot secondary containment area.
