UPDATE: Homeowners in the Fairbank North Star Borough Nonattainment Area are required under 18 AAC 50.077 and 18 AAC 50.079 to remove or replace outdated wood, pellet, coal stoves, hydronic heaters, fireplace inserts, and large devices that meet certain conditions by December 31, 2024. Prior to the deadline, the removal of these stoves is only required when property is sold, leased, or conveyed. After the deadline, the requirement applies to all homes, regardless of sale status.
