Sanitary Survey Renewal Course
About the Class
This one (1) day training course, presented by Drinking Water Program staff, will cover inspection techniques, requirements associated with the eight elements of a sanitary survey, and the Electronic Sanitary Survey (ESS) application. The course consists of online course instruction using Microsoft Teams. The exam will be administered during the afternoon portion of the course.

Renewal courses have concluded for the current season. Future class dates are to be determined.

Course instruction will be virtual.
Course Cost
There is no cost for the course itself, however there is an application fee when requesting approval as a sanitary surveyor.
Required equipment/software
You must have your own computer/laptop with a working audio system (microphone & speakers). We recommend using a headset for best audio clarity. You must also have Microsoft Teams installed prior to class.
If you do not have MS Teams account you'll need to create one and provide the email associated with your Teams account to the DW Program. You will receive an email invitation to join the State of Alaska (SOA) Teams once you accept this invitation you'll need to sign-in to the DEC DW Sanitary Survey Training Team. Download and install the MS Teams application or at least have access to the latest version of Microsoft Edge browser.
Who should attend
Current sanitary survey inspectors who are desiring to maintain their certification.
Prerequisite Information and Class Registration
Applicants must have successfully completed the basic course and be currently certified as a sanitary survey inspector.
Registration information will be provided once future classes are scheduled.
Note: Upon completing this class and passing the exam, the individual must satisfy the remaining requirements contained in 18 AAC 80.438 and subsequently be approved by the Department in order to be an approved sanitary surveyor for the State of Alaska.
