Location: Off of Perkins Point near Mineral Creek in the Port of Valdez in approximately 72 feet of water. 61° 07.605N, 146° 25.841W, NAD83
Time/Date: 7:30 PM on April 24, 2008. The spill was reported to ADEC at 8:00 pm.

Cause: The vessel was backing during spill response training and the wind and waves overtopped the transom flooding the engine room and overpowering the bilge pumps. The vessel went down in less than 15 minutes.
