LC Sea Trec II

- The LC Sea Trec II grounded at 59°-21.543 N, 157°-27.290 W on the Nushagak River, approximately 0.5 miles north of the city of Ekwok, AK. Ekwok is located 43 miles northeast of Dillingham and 285 miles southwest of Anchorage.
- Time/Date
- ADEC was initially contacted by the U.S. Coast Guard National Response Center. The National Response Center received notification from the Ekwok Village Council at 4:30 PM on August 12, 2009. It was reported by the operator that the landing craft (L/C) Sea Trec II grounded on a gravel sandbar at approximately 1:30 PM on August 12, 2009.

- L/C Sea Trec II has approximately 700 gallons of diesel and 100 gallons of additional petroleum products on board the vessel. There have been no additional reports of leakage or sheening from the vessel other than the initial report received. An ADEC emergency responder on scene suspected that when the vessel grounded a slight list caused bilge pump to turn on discharging an unknown amount of oil and water into the Nushagak River.

- The LC Sea Trec II grounded due to operator error on gravel-shallow bottom of Nushagak River.
