DEC Names Laura Achee Public Information Officer

Juneau, AK — The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has named Laura Achee as its new public information officer. She takes over from Candice Barber, who was with DEC for three years.

Achee began her state service as a press officer for the Alaska Senate, and served as the Director of Communications for the Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation. Prior to that, she held outreach positions for Providence Laboratory Services and the Blood Bank of Alaska, and was an on-air reporter for KFQD in Anchorage.

Achee is based out of DEC Headquarters in Juneau.
