2024 Point Thomson Export Pipeline Leak: Unified Command Update

Anchorage, AK — The Unified Command (UC) has taken swift action in response to the 2024 Point Thomson Export Pipeline incident. We are pleased to report that there have been no injuries to personnel and no oiled wildlife associated with the incident or response.As of Wednesday evening, 24 response personnel, including representatives from Harvest Alaska and Alaska Clean Seas, are on site actively addressing the situation. Additionally, the US Coast Guard, Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation, and North Slope Borough have mobilized personnel
to provide support in the field and in the command post.

All the necessary response and cleanup equipment are available on site. The impacted area has been well delineated.

As of Thursday afternoon, the cleanup effort has made substantial progress and the vast majority of the impacted snow has been collected. The cleanup efforts have involved both manual and mechanical
recovery methods. Collection containers have been filled with impacted snow and promptly removed from the site for thawing, measuring, and recycling.

A dedicated wildlife observer is present at all times to support response activities.

Moving forward, our focus remains on monitoring and cleanup efforts on site. We are actively evaluating plans for the remediation of residual product.An investigation into the cause of the incident is ongoing.
