Soils Course Information
- One-day, hands-on course includes a morning classroom and afternoon field session.
- Covers Onsite Wastewater System Installation Manual 2.8.2 approved field methods for soil classification and percolation tests.
- Available to all current certified installers who have not yet taken the soils course and participants of the certified installer course.
- All certified installers must take this in-person soils course once. The Department will conditionally certify installers until this course is reasonably expected to be completed.
2025 Course Information
- The in-person spring/summer soils course for 2025 is scheduled! To reserve a spot in the location nearest you, please fill out the form below. Registrants will receive additional information upon confirmation.
- Additional course dates may be added in an area depending on demand. An August session may also be added.
Soils Course Dates
- Class is full. Wasilla: Tuesday, May 20, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. AKST (contact Department staff for other opportunities and to be added to a waitlist. A fall class may be scheduled in August.)

- Class is full. Soldotna: Friday, May 23, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. AKST
- Class is full. Fairbanks: Wednesday, June 4, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. AKST
- Class is full. Fairbanks: Thursday, June 5, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. AKST
The Soldotna, Wasilla, and Fairbanks classes are full. It is anticipated to do another course in August/September. Please contact the Department if you would like to be added onto a waitlist for the current classes in-case a space becomes available.
