Small Untreated and Small Treated Correspondence Course Information
Taking a Small Untreated or Small Treated correspondence course will meet the eligibility requirement for small system certification. For Small Untreated certification, if you already have 3 months of experience operating a small untreated water system you do not need to take a correspondence course to become eligible for certification. For Small Treated certification, if you already have 6 months of experience operating a small treated water system you do not need to take a correspondence course to become eligible for certification. However, taking a course will help you prepare for the certification exam. You will also earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) by taking a course, which you will need to renew your certification in three years. You will earn 0.5 CEU for the Small Untreated Course and 1.0 CEU for the Small Treated Course.
Course Fees
Please note: you only need to take one of these courses. If you operate a Small Untreated system you should only take the Small Untreated course and if you operate a Small Treated system you should only take the Small Treated course. If you operate both Small Untreated and Small Treated systems, the Small Treated course is sufficient for both.
- Small Untreated Water Systems course fee: $10
- Small Treated Water Systems course fee: $20
A PDF of the manual required for the courses is available for free download.
You can also order a physical copy of the manual. Ordering a physical manual will add $10 to the cost of the Small Untreated course and $13 to the cost of the Small Treated course.
